Tutorial 3

Tutorial 3

This week we were focusing on designing human computer interfaces and the first thing we did in order to help us learn
We wrote a dialog that shows the interaction between a student and the system as they submit an assignment and created storyboards showing how my design would look and feel. This week was all about designing human computer interfaces and it was actually interesting to design my own way on how i would want the human computer interface to be designed.
how to design good interfaces look at bad interfaces and what makes them bad. The source we used is a website called “Web pages that suck”.We used the Wayback machine to compare the Monash University home page circa 1998 with today’s version and wow, the website has improved a lot to date.

Tutorial 2

2nd Tutorial

In this second tutorial, workload was geting more and more. We had to identify classes and create domain diagrams and use a CASE tool to create UML class models. We were introduce to the Visual Paradigm for UML software package and spent time exploring its layout and menus. The software was not hard for me to use since i easily learn software. With the help of the softaware documentation provided i found myself manoevering easily through the software and i was soon drawing models. It was a nice experience.
We then used the case tool VP for UML to create an initial domain model of the problem, then i extended that model by transforming it into an analysis class diagram.Week 2 was done!

Tutorial 1

First tutorial.

This was the first tutorial so we were being introduced to the tutors and they told us about the unit, wat would be required of us throughout the course and asked us to intoduce ourselves.. We started working on the tutorial straight away and it was kind of hectic. We were learning on how to usse NetBeans IDE in developing systems. It was sort of hard for me because i had not attended the lecture since my timetable had clashes with fit1031 tutorial at the same time but by the end of the lecture i had had the hang of it. It was a nice experience after all and the tutor really made it worthwhile with helping me understand where i did not. We were told that we were supposed to start blogging on our weekly tutorials and that we are supposed to submit our tutorials every week after each tutorial.
